Gianluca Prestianni will start in the early hours of tomorrow (kick-off at 01h00) for Argentina in the friendly with Bolivia, in Córdoba. The Benfica forward is one of the surprises in Lionel Scaloni's first starting XI after the World Cup.

The information was reported, among other media outlets, by sports newspaper Olé and television channel TyC Sports.

In excellent form, Prestianni has been rewarded with a starting place in Argentina's XI. He was competing with Franco Mastantuono (Fiorentina) and Matías Soulé (Roma) for the spot. The 20-year-old forward will earn his second cap, after making his debut in a friendly with Angola, in Luanda, in November 2025.

Prestianni is, as such, one of the faces of Argentina's renewal, as they prepare for Lionel Messi's farewell, scheduled for 7 October, at Estadio Monumental, in Buenos Aires, in a friendly with Benin.

Román Vega, Zenit's left-back, is another new face in Scaloni's team.

This season, at Benfica, Prestianni has 12 games, eight goals and three assists.

Argentina XI: Emiliano Martínez; Agustín Giay, Cristian Romero, Lisandro Martínez and Román Vega; Nicolás Paz, Exequiel Palacios, Alexis Mac Allister and Gianluca Prestianni; Julián Álvarez and Lautaro Martínez
